Have you heard...

We are delighted to send you our final update for 2017. Thanks to you, the impact of your support has never been more profound than this year. In 2017 you helped more than 2,300 families in Geelong. We provided 3,180 babies and children with clothing and linen bags. Some of these families face crippling disadvantage.

We rehomed a total of 13,890 items, including 430 prams and 400 car seats. The replacement value of these items is $1,630,500.

Everyday we hear about how your support is making a difference for families in need. With your generous support, we can continue to make an impact in our community.

Geelong Mums Christmas Appeal

This Christmas you can help babies ‘sleep safe and dream BIG’. The focus is ensuring babies born this festive season have a safe cot, mattress and linen. Any donation you make will help us to ensure that every baby has a safe place to sleep.

Christmas hours

Geelong Mums will close for donations this Friday, 15th December 2017. We will reopen on Monday, 8 January from 9.30am. For more information please visit our website.

We are a volunteer-powered organisation. We thank them for the enormous contribution they make. Over Christmas they are having a well earned break, so they are ready to shine again in 2018!

The difference you make!

We love to share the many stories about the difference your support has made. This letter came from a local social worker. It highlights the very real and immediate impact your help makes.

“I work with young parents 15 to 24 years of age who are pregnant or parenting. These clients live in crisis managed housing supported by our program.

A few months ago I had a young mother enter our program with two children.

This mother had her own car but the car seats she had for her children were second hand and very worn. Through the support of Geelong Mums she received two new age appropriate car seats. I helped her fit them into her car and she was very grateful.

Recently this client had a very bad car accident while the children were in the car with her. The car hit a tree on a country road and rolled over landing on its roof. The client sustained some nasty fractures but will recover. The children sustained only minor bruising.

After the accident she couldn’t praise Geelong Mums enough. It was the car seats that had prevented the children from further injury or even worse outcomes.

I wanted to write this to show you how valuable your support to the community is. In incidents like these you are saving children from injury, harm or worse.

Thank you for your invaluable support.”

Annual Report out now

Thanks to your support we are delighted to present our 2017 Annual Report. The impact of Geelong Mums with St Kilda Mums and Eureka Mums has meant we now support every local government area across Victoria. Behind every gift given to families who face hardship, is the support of our incredibly generous donors and the dedication of our volunteers. Thank you for allowing us to have this impact.
